Nothing like a spring day enjoying the beauty of Nature.

Down Your Lonely Roads

Sometimes the easiest way to find out where the road is going to take you, is to travel down it.

Waiting for Delivery

A simple rural scene with lots of lines and color. It works.

Sublte Flavor

Just trying to capture the essence of something. Let it speak for itself.

Zen Green

I've been having a little fun with some old images that I wouldn't look at twice. Digital art is a whole separate world from photography, and it gives you lots of room for creativity. I would encourage anyone to give it a try.

Ours is to contemplate the glory all around us.

The Tea Garden

One of the things we tend to overlook is the fact that we can use digital images in many other creative ways. There are a lot of imaging programs out there, so I encourage you to play around with your images from time to time. It's fun, and the results can be surprising.

Sweet as Honey

Pattern itself can be the subject matter of an image.

Two roofs

The patterns and shapes of architecture are a lot of fun to photograph.

Welcome to California

It's heating up out there folks, and not just because it is summer. It's about out of control government, taxes, and a bad economy.... enough is enough!

All the trouble I've seen

If I don't like the background I have, subject permitting, I'll use the sky instead.

Something about clocks

Clocks, they serve as reminders of the passage of time, and give us pause to look back. Today marks the fortieth anniversary of the Apollo 11 landing on the moon. For those of use around at the time, we can remember the excitement and enthusiasm, and not just for the events of the day.

There was optimism for what the future would bring. Contrast that with the current mood. People just aren't excited about the future. They just want to get through the day unscathed, trying to hold on to their jobs and homes, and do the best they can for their families.

These are interesting times indeed, but I'd rather they be focused more on what we can do rather than trying escape from ravages of the world.

Just Picked

Getting out and meeting with other photographers gives you a chance to photograph different subjects and try new things. A great way expand your horizons and hone your skills.

Full Basket

I did two Scott Kelby Photowalks yesterday and had a blast. Sharing ideas, tips, and tricks with other photographers, and just getting out and shooting is a great way to spend some time and meet new people.

At times the locations were a bit of a challenge, but really, how else are you going to learn work and think on your feet?

Future Summer Memories

The thing with photographs is that they give us a record of things and places, and of people too. Simple reminders that we can look at from time to time of things often forgotten. A bit of solace when needed.

Following Directions

Sometimes we've just got to march off on our own and see where that takes us...

Try to capture something as elusive as the wind. You can't see it, but you know it's there.

Some moments just beg to be captured.

Hitting the Water

Photographing fireworks is rewarding in the images you capture, and the challenge is that you don't get many opportunities to practice.

Wind and Shadows

Nature gives us a lot to work with. We just need to make the time to try and take it all in.

Taxed Enough

During what should be a carefree Summer Holiday, the masses are enraged. Why? Out of control Government!

Takes a lot to get anyone in California that doesn't want a handout to take to the streets. Not looking good out there folks!

R.I.P. California

We've crossed the Rubicon. The tarnished cesspool on the Pacific, in its last dying moment of glory is now a shining example of what too much Government will lead to. The rest of the Country needs to wake up and take heed.

Having a blast

My annual venture of photographing fireworks panned out a little better than expected. I was able to secure a great location and was just about far enough away to capture most of the explosions in the frame. A five second exposure seemed to work the best. Still, I'd like to try this again with an even wider lens. Until next year.

If you've got something to say, then speak up.

Enough Already

Something I'm not used to seeing - protesters - can't say that I blame them. There's a lot of frustration out there folks.

Happy Independence Day

Our Independence should not be taken for granted. We need to fight for it everyday. Savior and enjoy your freedoms.

Come Summer Dreams

Maybe it's the economy, or the fact that it hasn't been very warm... Who knows... but I've been very surprised at how empty the beaches have been so far this Summer.

Not to say that it doesn't work to my advantage. It makes for less of a struggle to minimize that amount of elements in an image.

Burning up the Light

I really like it when it's a bit misty around sunset. The mist catches the light and adds some nice atmosphere to an image.
