Ted woke with a slight headache.

His room was clean and orderly....

They drove for an hour or more,

trying to get across town....

yet the distance they covered was scarcely a mile,

urban life might feel hectic and frenzied....

for a place where little gets done

Into the past we rushed,

our dream was over,

the deconstruction demanded it,

so we tore ourselves apart
