The annual Fiesta dances begin again tonight. Always a festive and colorful event.  I'm hoping to be able to get out and at least shoot a little.

I went out and shot a parade yesterday, and my favorite image of the day turned out to be this one... my happy accident.

I looked up and these cow girls started doing a line dance, unfortunately, or in this case fortunately, my camera wasn't in focus.

The bokeh look and feel are what makes this image work for me.

Step it up

I ended up with way more pictures of dancers than I ever intended to take, so I thought I'd put together a stop motion type of video with them.

It turned out to be a fun project, though it didn't turn out exactly as expected.

It also took 3 hours to put together something that runs just under a minute.

Not the type of project to start unless you have the time to work on it.

Mystery Dance

I was playing around with long exposures to see how the effect would look.... it seems to have added some interest to these dancers.
