Our ship came in....

tomorrow hard to understand...

nothing left to pursue, all was here

in the palms of our hands...

every spoken word was true,

the world glowed an honest hue.

Disaster has faded away,

beyond memory, all is eternity

corruption fallen to harmony...

all is as it should be...

we put the past away today,

leaving it there to stay,

and stopped running around in yesterdays...

Like Walking on Water

This person looks like he is having fun. This is more than I can say for my day. My computer at work had a hard drive failure and it took six hours for the tech staff to bring me a loaner. Sorry about the rant, but six hours doesn't go very quickly when you are sitting in a cubical. Thank God I brought my MP3 player with me.

On the water

Different lenses will give you different effects. This view was the result of using a telephoto lens which compresses space and changes the proportions of items. If I had used a wide angle lens here, the result would have been much different and the view more expansive.

Beach Combers

A serene moment at the end of the day watching the sun set is something that folks can connect with. At least that's the impression I get from my stock photography sales for this type of image. It's simple with ample space for copy and a limited color space. And yet, my camera club was kind enough to critique this specific image and suggest it be improved, though they weren't clear as to how I might do this.

Improvement is a constant goal for me, as is the idea of making images stronger. I'm intrigued as to how to tell a beach story in compelling ways and certainly will explore this further. Stay tuned...

Fill the Frame

Sometimes the easiest what to get your point across, or to leave no doubt as to the subject matter of your photograph is by filling the frame.

Here I tried to get most of the Golden Gate Bridge squeezed into my view finder and little else. This bridge is such a well know icon of San Francisco that it doesn't really need anything to provide context for it. My goal was to create an image just a little different than the usual fare.

Incidental Moments

It may not seem like much, but an incidental moment or two helps me collect my thoughts. The beach is a good place for this. I'm not to the only one it seems. This photograph reminds me of those moments.

Chasing Dreams

Photography and Photoshop have allowed me to bring dreams to fruition in more ways than one. Often the result is a visual freedom, or just the discovery of an idea that was hiding in an image. Something that takes on it's own life...

Youth

Moments like these never change, we just grow older and pass away.

The moments remain an endless Summer.

There's nothing like a little time at the end of the day

to clear my head.
