Long walks in winter's cold
on a beach of sand and stone
in a begotten land of days of old
stretched across the miles
treading along in a straight line
this night alone and small
soon to stare into the stars
and wait for one to fall
trekking along in an emotional retrospective
tonight at the world's crest
immensity putting forth a truthful prospective
and settling the questions bothering me
as the sun sets off in the west

I feel truly blessed.  Yesterday, I was took my cat of fifteen plus years to the vet, convinced that I would be putting him down.  He hasn't been eating or drinking much, and it seemed that his time had come.  That wasn't the case, and he got a better bill of health than I expected.  So the little guy will be around a little longer to bring more joy into my life.  The lesson in all of this is that faith goes a long way, and that everyday we're blessed with little things... and big ones too... but it's the little ones that are the most meaningful.

another confrontation, a resurging addiction
the weary road of scorned lovers and drunkards
if Johnny's home our days must be numbered
