Again and Again

It's the 82nd year of a century of discontent
destructive decade after destructive decade
into the cities we poured to live an industrialized life
no more rural chores, just two world wars
oh, what bloody fun, muddy trenches, boys with guns
and when all was said and done
no lesson learned, the future abandoned
to history repeat we're doomed
again and again
unless we take our love
and set ourselves free

More Love

a hush fell over the room
silently we stood, pondering
what future we wanted to build
perhaps the world could use
just a little more
love

traded away

funny how we celebrate freedom
we no longer really have
we traded it for safety
yet, we don't have that either

Show it

our companions pass through our lives so quickly
sharing precious moments just briefly
then they're gone before we know it
if you love them make sure you show it

Life of ease

arm and arm the lonely stand
facing their future uncertain
smiles carried on the breeze
their's no life of ease

Setting Sun

we journey from east to west
following our own setting sun
from the day our life began
until we're laid to rest
to become at one
as was planned

sans dreams

dreams don't always work out
the way we'd like
but imagine a world
without them
