man's greatest achievements

are how creative he is

at destroying himself

what we wish to be

isn't always what is

we need to be careful

and clearly see

what's in front of us

unless we dream big

the past will repeat itself

and the future will never change

people are like sheep

eager to follow

feeling safe in herds

willing to give up freedom

for a false sense of safety

and belonging

the world has a way

of bringing us back down

when we let our dreams

soar too high

we shape our worlds

and make ourselves

who we are

who we were

and

who we will be

the colors of yesterday

slowly fade away

scrace a memory

the illusions of youth

come undone

replaced with aging truth

until they're gone
