The look of things

The Lieutenant returned to the house.

The place was a shambles.

There was paper scattered all over.

The furniture had been turned over.

Whatever the murderer was looking for had to be important.

The Senator must have put up quite a fight from the look of things.

Nothing found

The masses trying to remember

why they're actually here

no reminder or insight

to be found anywhere

One with Nature

Buck liked to think he was one with nature,

as many do, true or not

Missed Something

The Lieutenant's mind was filled with murder.

He could think of nothing else.

He decided to return to the crime scene.

There just had to be something he missed.

Boredom

They sanctioned their boredom with little care

Dead Body

A dead Senator and a world of suspects....

the Lt. knew he'd have his hands full,

time to see the coroner and the body

Getting Caught

Crime is nothing new to cities,

that's where you find politicians....

who make a living out of crime,

it's not often that they get caught,

that's the difference....
though few seemed to notice
