Amatsu

I lost my beloved Amatsu on Saturday...
he was with us through so many things,
eighteen years of unconditional love and joy,
and such a big big part of my life....
heartbroken doesn't even come close to describing
the loss that I'm feeling.... so long my friend,
know that you were truly loved.

All I want to do

There is going to be a train wreck tonight
but all I want to do is sleep
well, they say the sky is going to fall
and the world will be destroyed
but all I want to do is sleep
the thunder pounds, the sea rages
and guns sort out the crooks from sages
but all I want to do is sleep
vanity and lust acknowledge each other
with smiles and tongues
and missiles are shot off
headed towards the sun
but all I want to do is sleep
well, look, California has gone for a swim
and the schools have started teaching Russian
but all I want to do is sleep

Long Goodbyes

when love walked out the door
hearts closed down for years
tears dried and hearts froze
all was lost in time, so sing
songs of long goodbyes

Yeah, you

What are you trying to tell me,
haven't you said enough, stop
I heard music, it's roaming softly
through the cells in my head
don't chase it away, leave it
no righteousness, nor cream
colored lies, shouting
proper ways to live
improper lives
you, yeah, you
shut up and go back to hell

Retaliation

He received a tongue lashing
so severe it sent him into a frienzied
retaliation of blasphemous anger and rage
quickly he seized his intended victim
and the moment of volunerability
brought on by surprize
as his friend now succumbed
to the superhuman strength of fury
his sanity slipped when he heard
life pass and now he's confined
to a padded cage

Worms and Lizards

Arrogant bastards
feeding themselves
on worms and beans
sitting on alters
next to greens
pounding on the heads
of their court jesters
clothing the king
with tar and feathers
gossip house
for the insane
rumors of nuns
snorting cocaine
avoiding the snow plows
chasing dairy trucks
mistaking them for milk cows
well you woke up
to an opera in your head
between the rocks
your feet in the clouds
the straight jacket
in the closet now
and your faimily
resting in the grave
your companions
lost their heads to the kind
for his chicken hair suit
you'd be next
but the bishop saved
your life when
he let the church bell ring
crowded slums
and your favorite sluts
would like to see
you die
and then feed the buzzards
or maybe taken away
to play with worms and lizards

Out in time

Things are much bigger than they seem
so glad, we're just passing through
making the best of idle amusements
on a revolving zoo
circling the sun
complex puzzles
missing pieces
out in time
creating heaven and hell
without resulting thought
mimicking the pantomime
