Clocks, they serve as reminders of the passage of time, and give us pause to look back. Today marks the fortieth anniversary of the Apollo 11 landing on the moon. For those of use around at the time, we can remember the excitement and enthusiasm, and not just for the events of the day.
There was optimism for what the future would bring. Contrast that with the current mood. People just aren't excited about the future. They just want to get through the day unscathed, trying to hold on to their jobs and homes, and do the best they can for their families.
These are interesting times indeed, but I'd rather they be focused more on what we can do rather than trying escape from ravages of the world.
