Familiar Faces

I could never remember

where familiar faces came from

everything around me turning

like a medieval comedy

yes, yes, everything is changing

but the words stay true

we're rolling into good book tragedy

oh, how I still love you

let's dress in celebration colors

and bounce off the world

cold as moon beams

oh, get out quick

that's fulfillment

Called It Night

The giant easel stood up straight

when I began to paint

the work started early

and continued all day

the canvas leaned back

in its own sultry way

showing off its magic hues

of fiery gold, floating white

and ominous blues

I stood back and looked long

and then frowned

my picture was wrong

so I lifted my palette again

with weary heart

I decided to restart

with a slow deepening of blue

from right to left

over and over

I spread all the colors

across the canvas

until I had a mysterious

somber glow

lastly I added a fury of white

in scattered specks

and when I finished

I called my picture night

A world of distrust

He had a cold black stare that match his eyes

and world of distrust closing in

he couldn't keep it at bay

funny he should die this way

naked, stripped of disguise

Passing Days

I'm going to where a house is going to die

I'm going to watch the spirits inside fly

I'm going to wipe my eyes dry

I'm going to aim my arrows at the sky

I'm going to hold my head high

I'm going to treasure each day passing by

Transformer

Innocence gives way

slowly, day by day

leaving us to face the world

as a daily battle

dressed in armor

life the transformer

Waiting for delivery

The future took a backseat to dreams

holed up in isolation

waiting to be delivered

freed from our addictions

to technolgy

Meltdown

It's a national meltdown

no one is going to give an inch

nor throw their guns down

people getting ready for the fight

regards are doormats
