Le Louvre

If only we could go back and do it again...

I often think that when looking at old photos. I know how I'd do things differently, but really the point is I've learned so much in between.

Never stop learning!

Toilette Signori

I've been scanning some old photos. Though they are grainy and such, they are still fun to look at and bring back some good memories.

It's nice just having digital copies of them now..

Rowhouses

What we build and where we live says a lot about us. Architecture tends to capture our essence. It embodies our culture.

That's why it makes such good subject matter for photographers.

The Hotel

Sometimes things just catch our eye. They seem to have a story to tell, but what that is exactly is an elusive mystery.

Sometimes we just need a little help to get to where we are going.

A Magic Moment

You know them when you see them.... moments begging to be photographed, an instant when nature winks at you "got your camera ready?"

Luckily, sometimes we do.

Like life itself, you just keep following that road to wherever it leads you.

as in a dream

Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them? To die: to sleep;
No more; and by a sleep to say we end
The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to, 'tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wish'd. To die, to sleep;
To sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there's the rub...

Shadows of the Past

It is often said that the past is never too far behind us, and that we often repeat the mistakes of the past. One only has to look at the state of the world today to see that this is true.

You don't say

To truly get some sense of scale just add a human element to your images. It also gives something to draw the viewer in, even just for a moment and gives them something to look at.

Oceano Sand Dunes

I know the camera on my phone isn't the best and I'm not using it as a replacement for a DSLR.

I've been using it to enhance and more accurately geotag images. I take an image with my iPhone as a reference and do a series with my Nikon.

What I've notice just lately is that the lat/long isn't being embedded properly with the EXIF data for the phone pix.

I'm hoping that this is just a software issue and can be remedied quickly. Otherwise I'm back to upgrading my DSLR so that the camera can record the GPS data directly to the EXIF.

Arc de Triomphe

How do you capture an image so well known and do it just a little differently?

Daring to Dream

...to live in a Nation where we are judged on the content of our character. A noble ideal. The question is does our character live up to that dream?

Beach Bliss

I often go to the beach never knowing what to expect. If nothing else I can enjoy a simple sunset.

Image my surprise and the treat of watching this couple in tux and gown running along the beach with their dog.

I just had to try and sneak off an image or two.

This Old Tractor

Use these object in your photographic storytelling.

The Sun Comes Shining Through

I always like to think that there's a ray of hope out on the horizon. Maybe I shouldn't use the word hope, as what I'm talking about has to do with faith.

Above the waves

When circumstances permit, combining something unique to the area you are photographing with a human element will add interest to your images.

Along the Coast

It's very helpful to know the position of the sun during different times of the year. When it's in the right position it is a great aid to your compositions.

Our focus doesn't seem to be on taking care of what we have and as a result things fall apart all around us.

Day's End

Sunsets are nice, but if you can get something in the foreground it will make your photograph work a lot better.
