If you've got something to say, just say it...
there are more venues to express yourself
than ever before... take advantage of that...
a blog is a good way to start,
you'd be surprised...
at the places this could this could take you

His shore alone

His shore alone by Damian Gadal
His shore alone, a photo by Damian Gadal on Flickr.
He missed the touch of a summer's day across his back
so he came to watch the sun set over seas of tired inspiration
walking slowly, waiting for the moon to lead him home again

Deception

Deception by Damian Gadal
Deception, a photo by Damian Gadal on Flickr.
The giant easel stands up straight
so I begin to paint
the work starts early and continues all day
the canvas leans back in its sultry way
the canvas shows off its golden hues
of fiery gold, floating white, and omnibus blues
I stand back and stare long
and frown when seeing the picture's wrong
I lift my palette with weary heart
and I slowly deepen the blue
from right to left, over and over
all the colors are mixed into a somber glow
and spread over the canvas
the final touch is the fury of white
scattered specks thrown out before I go.

Modern Security

Modern Security by Damian Gadal
Modern Security, a photo by Damian Gadal on Flickr.
We live on with false safety
trading away freedom daily
this lie of modern security

Those special times of in between
when Sally crossed the void of time
and came back to haunt me

For the good times, a photo by Damian Gadal on Flickr.
Color flourished in moments
around the fringes of life
giving us the spice we need
to keep things interesting....

Turn Ahead

Turn Ahead by Damian Gadal
Turn Ahead, a photo by Damian Gadal on Flickr.
Just around the corner the world takes a different direction, the vista changes, and new possibilities await... all you have to do is take the wheel and hit the gas.

We dine at dusk

We dine at dusk by Damian Gadal
We dine at dusk, a photo by Damian Gadal on Flickr.
Those lucid moments between dreams
when it's just you and me, the world
all ours, as far as the eye can see...

Restrained by circumstance
a waiting game for change
and the courage to take chances

Taking notes

Taking notes by Damian Gadal
Taking notes, a photo by Damian Gadal on Flickr.
Words once lost find some light and new homes,
gone are the dusty shelves where they were dying,
transformed to bits and bytes they find new eyes...
ears and hearts too, as existence is redefined....

His last set

His last set by Damian Gadal
His last set, a photo by Damian Gadal on Flickr.
Leon decided to take control of his own destiny
no longer would he sleep through his dreams
choosing instead to chase after them wide awake
and so he set out one day to make them happen

Wish

Wish by Damian Gadal
Wish, a photo by Damian Gadal on Flickr.
We wished for things to call happiness
but like smoke from a bottle found
washed up on distant shores... we chased illusions

Beach Bound

Beach Bound by Damian Gadal
Beach Bound, a photo by Damian Gadal on Flickr.
It was easy living until the moment we realized Sally was gone... never to be seen again.

The easy life

The easy life by Damian Gadal
The easy life, a photo by Damian Gadal on Flickr.
Built on promises
and impossible dreams
this life of luxury and ease
isn't at all what it seems

Suburbia, a photo by Damian Gadal on Flickr.
This life we build on mounds of rubble
is no Eden, but rather trouble...

Life and Death

Life and Death by Damian Gadal
Life and Death, a photo by Damian Gadal on Flickr.
Who died first?
was it Adam or Eve?
to quench Satin's thirst...
and where's the decayed Eden kept?
in the east or in the west?
and where's the palace where the king slept?
and the cross used to sacrifice a carpenter?
...for our corrupt souls angels have wept...

Storm Coming

Storm Coming by Damian Gadal
Storm Coming, a photo by Damian Gadal on Flickr.
Sounds of thunder outside my door
as my bones shake with fright
sitting
the pouring rain now is heard
waiting
anticipation abounds
the storm is raging over the sea
bright flashing of jagged light
racing towards me
and again the illuminations destroy the night
and again comes the thunderous roar
and here comes the storm
crashing thru my front door....

Lifeless

Lifeless by Damian Gadal
Lifeless, a photo by Damian Gadal on Flickr.
Slowly the details of her life faded,
events once so vivid and vibrant
lost their cover, becoming just outlines
of days gone by.... losing the life
that they once held...

Bare Facts

Bare Facts by Damian Gadal
Bare Facts, a photo by Damian Gadal on Flickr.
We live in a world of illusion
a place where the mind plays tricks
what holds it all together
is a willingness to believe

Jumpers

Jumpers by Damian Gadal
Jumpers, a photo by Damian Gadal on Flickr.
Camera technology has come a long way
and continues to improve, giving users
a host of features to capture  images they
never could before unless they hauled around
lots of expensive gear and really worked at
getting every setting just right.

The improvements make it much easier
to got after results and spend less time
working at process.  This is a good thing.

Letters

Letters by Damian Gadal
Letters, a photo by Damian Gadal on Flickr.
Charlie took his imagination to the edge,
letting the letters flow to his fingertips,
forming words, they crated a world in which he plays,
and so he writes, and imagination takes shape

Misty Bend

Misty Bend by Damian Gadal
Misty Bend, a photo by Damian Gadal on Flickr.
My solace now is time,
craving constantly some understanding
of the differences that pull us together,
only to push us away...
As the phases of the moon
are not about science,
this attraction is not about us...

Wild with the breeze, a photo by Damian Gadal on Flickr.
Don't fill your balloon with dreams and never let it fly,
let it loose to soar wild with the breeze...

Ted found his dreams at the bottom of a bottle,

or amounted to much...

Far off ahead

Far off ahead by Damian Gadal
Far off ahead, a photo by Damian Gadal on Flickr.
Down the back roads of your mind
you've become so hard to reach
a maze that leaves us both lost
this slipping away so unkind
