False Priorities

False Priorities by Damian Gadal
False Priorities, a photo by Damian Gadal on Flickr.
False prophets,
these men with mirrors,
their illusions just smoke,
hold the populace hostage,
in the name of power and glory

In our object obsessed culture there's still time to spend you last dollar on material things, but take some time to reflect on the true meaning of the season...

Simple Masts

Simple Masts by Damian Gadal
Simple Masts, a photo by Damian Gadal on Flickr.
There's a simplicity to life that we choose to ignore for sensationalism.  People sitting for hours glued to television news, absorbing hour after hour of tragedy.  Our society a toxic stew that doesn't seek common ground, but draws lines in the sand, ready to do battle with friends and neighbor who don't hold the same point of view.  This is a recipe disaster, all amplified by technology, and there just may be no turning back.

Christmas at sea

Christmas at sea by Damian Gadal
Christmas at sea, a photo by Damian Gadal on Flickr.
I tried a different camera on this year's boat parade and it really did a good job.  The camera was a Sony NEX-7 set on twilight used handheld with no flash.  The images aren't perfect, but the images are much better than anything I've been able to capture before.  Camera technology just keeps getting better.

Symbols of confusion

Symbols of confusion by Damian Gadal
Symbols of confusion, a photo by Damian Gadal on Flickr.
When the meaning of the world around us starts to fade, and life becomes one long day, we sit and ponder if things really happened, or if they're just another possible distorted memory slipping away.
