It's a double

It's a double by Damian Gadal
Not the greatest photo, but having any camera made all the difference between this and nothing.

We are funny,
the two of us....
close,
but out of touch...

Right Over There

Right Over There by Damian Gadal
Right Over There, a photo by Damian Gadal on Flickr.
It brings us solitude,
yet, all you'll see is the darkness
between the stars' shimmering light...

It's getting expensive

It's getting expensive by Damian Gadal
It's getting expensive, a photo by Damian Gadal on Flickr.
You don't have to look to hard to realize that there hasn't been much "economic recovery". The great recession continues.

On the rails

On the rails by Damian Gadal
On the rails, a photo by Damian Gadal on Flickr.
Sunset,
Oh sweet, so sweet,
waiting for a song...
waiting for that music...
that moves the soul,
and holds the heart...
a passing moment,
so long a wait,
so great a gain...

Cheap Gas

Cheap Gas by Damian Gadal
Fuel costs are on the rise again. This isn't a good sign for a nation still in the middle of a recession.

The break,
the pause,
the years between...
You'll be reunited,
now...

The Crossing

The Crossing by Damian Gadal
The Crossing, a photo by Damian Gadal on Flickr.
Morning brings confusion,
the alarm breaking a soft
and swollen spell...
drawn out of the well of sleep...
up the steps of identity...
forward I stagger and climb..
Today we could fall,
the world recede...
time to face it all,
awake.

Follow your feet

Follow your feet by Damian Gadal
Follow your feet, a photo by Damian Gadal on Flickr.
Up a hill I chased a dream,
the delusion of my future life...
Strong and young,
I made it to the top quickly,
till this day, I've yet to recover
from the fall...

Once Upon a Time

Once Upon a Time by Damian Gadal
Once Upon a Time, a photo by Damian Gadal on Flickr.
Dead center, hard and grey
my pencil sheds its skin
from beneath six cornered
yellow wrapping, and upon
my mistake, it retracts my words
with the soft pink ease of its tongue...

Once begun,
once came from...
A world of magic.

Out to catch waves

Out to catch waves by Damian Gadal
Out to catch waves, a photo by Damian Gadal on Flickr.
Messy, the corners of my mind...
thoughts lay scatted about,
half forgotten...
it could use a good cleaning,
if I could find the time.

Crane Up

Crane Up by Damian Gadal
We're hanging on strings...
The things we build up,
easily come crashing down...
Like hopes and dreams...

Having a good time

Having a good time by Damian Gadal
I took the plunge and went completely Creative Commons.... giving it away.  If someone wants to use any of my images, fine by me.  There are more important things in life than money...

Take shelter where you can.
Let the tempest pass.

No Change Given

No Change Given by Damian Gadal
Technology has been woven into our daily lives so much that when something goes wrong it's hard for us to function.

We've become a little soft.  In life, when dealing with challenges, a good rule of thumb is to:  Adapt, Improvise, and Overcome.

This applies to the world in general, not just tech.

Trapped in

Trapped in by Damian Gadal
I'm liberated..... systems are coming back online.

It never ends

Technology has a dark side. One of which is hardware failures.

The other is shoddy operating systems.

In less than two weeks I've had two systems go down.

The culprit each time turned out to be a corrupt file that prevented Windows from loading.

This meant the system was DOA in each case.

It didn't matter that the systems were running behind firewalls, that complete system scans were done on an ongoing basis.

Updates and antivirus protection didn't help either.

Laptop and desktop both fell prey. Both on a different version of Windows.

The point of all of this is to keep in mind that things can and will go wrong.

The best laid plans...

Google Voice Search, and more

When Apple releases this update, it will change things a whole lot... and more. Oh, Siri

Seriously.... things have changed and come to fruition since I first posted this, not that long ago.

Can't reach you

Can't reach you by Damian Gadal
We never did much talking...
Technology oddly took you further away...
You've become invisible...
Beyond reach...
Out of touch...
