An extremely early morning phone call from a suicidal friend is hardly the way to start the day. For Syd, it didn't seem all that unusual. Since finding his father's suicide note, nothing fazed him.
Syd just took everything in stride, death and loss were hard lessons learned. Lessons you can't teach, but things you've got to get through.
So, shouting "deal with your problems" and hanging up seemed like the appropriate thing to do. Syd never got another one of THOSE early morning phone calls again.
