California Sunset

A setting sun, a low tide, and kids playing in the water. Three simple elements, but if you put them together, you've got the elements for a compelling image.

The fading sunlight will give you a pallet of golden color. Throw in a few clouds, even better.

The low tide will turn the beach into a reflective surface that amplifies the glowing sky.

And the kids playing in the water give you subject matter and/or a point of interest. With the sun behind them, you can create interesting silhouettes to draw the viewer in.

That all there is to it. Well, to using the elements described above. You'll still need to select the camera settings that work best for you and dodge a few waves.

It's a fun way to enjoy the sunset too!
